DESCRIPTION:What does the Bible really say about the LGBTQ community? This
is one of the hot-button issues within the church. The verses that answer
these questions are not the most read or understood. On February 8 and 15\
, Aliyah Kennedy will lead a discussion of the book   Unclobber by Colby M
artin. Together\, we will examine six biblical passages that are often cal
led the “Clobber Passages.” These verses have been historically used by Ch
ristians as the basis of anti-LGBTQ theology. UnClobber reexamines what th
e Bible says (and does not say) about homosexuality in such a way that she
ds divine light on outdated and inaccurate assumptions and interpretations
. We believe that if we are to use the Bible as a guide for how to treat o
ur neighbor\, we should make sure that we read and understand it first. Jo
in Aliyah Kennedy after worship at 11:20 a.m. to look at these verses and
talk about what it means for how we live out our faith. \n
