On Sunday, February 9, Boy Scouts of America (BSA) Troop and Pack 115 will celebrate Scout Sunday with the LPC congregation. The BSA annually celebrates its founding on February 8, 1910, based on the program started by Lord Baden Powell in England on August 1, 1907. The Scout Law says that a “Scout is Reverent” and that Scouts of all ages promise to do their “Duty to God.”
Following the celebration of Scout Sunday at the 10 a.m. service, the Scouts will partner with the Fellowship and Member Care Ministry to provide a “Grab and Go Breakfast” in place of the usual coffee hour in the Atrium. Beverage service (coffee, tea, juice, water) will be in the usual location on the island. The scouts will serve a to-go type breakfast that may be taken to faith formation classes or enjoyed in the Atrium. A freewill offering to cover the costs will be gladly accepted. This is a wonderful opportunity for church members and scouts to enjoy fellowship and a good meal. Once again our awesome chef, Jim Cox, is leading the scout cooking effort!
