“Setting Our Faces”
LPC Pastor Jim Butler will lead the Lenten series via Zoom on five successive Tuesday evenings at 7 p.m. beginning February 23. Each session will also be available for viewing on the church website later each week. The Gospel of Luke says, “When the days drew near for Jesus to be taken up, he set his face to go to Jerusalem” (Luke 9:51). Dr. Butler will focus on five key events/experiences that occurred on Jesus’ journey to Jerusalem and the cross so that participants can reflect on how we “set our faces” in everyday life — with God, ethical choices, relationships, politics, the poor and oppressed, those with whom we disagree. Participants will be invited to do some personal reflection and Lenten journaling on each of the biblical passages. Zoom links will be sent out via the church’s Constant Contact email service and include an audio-only (phone) option for those who prefer not to use Zoom video.
