Special Services

Communion

The ministers and members of Lakewood Presbyterian Church welcome all who place their trust and faith in Jesus Christ to come to the Lord’s Table on the first Sunday of each month.  Children whose parents are actively raising them in the faith are also welcome at the communion table.   The elements are received by intinction, in which people come forward, take a piece of bread, and dip it into the cup.  The communion elements are brought to those who cannot come forward.

Baptism

The Presbyterian and Reformed tradition understands Baptism as an event in which the entire community of faith participates and promises to guide the person being baptized (children and adults) into deeper faith.  Persons requesting Baptism should contact the pastor and schedule a personal consultation.  Infants and children must have a parent who is a member.

Weddings

Please contact the pastor to schedule a consultation. Generally, wedding services are scheduled at least six months in advance to accommodate the required counseling sessions.  Wedding services are conducted by LPC’s clergy and musicians.

Funerals and Memorials

To schedule a funeral or memorial service for a member of the congregation, please contact the church office immediately for availability.  Our clergy regularly conduct services for non members in other settings.
