What does the Bible really say about the LGBTQ community? This is one of the hot-button issues within the church. The verses that answer these questions are not the most read or understood. On February 8 and 15, Aliyah Kennedy will lead a discussion of the book   Unclobber by Colby Martin. Together, we will examine six biblical passages that are often called the “Clobber Passages.” These verses have been historically used by Christians as the basis of anti-LGBTQ theology. UnClobber reexamines what the Bible says (and does not say) about homosexuality in such a way that sheds divine light on outdated and inaccurate assumptions and interpretations. We believe that if we are to use the Bible as a guide for how to treat our neighbor, we should make sure that we read and understand it first. Join Aliyah Kennedy after worship at 11:20 a.m. to look at these verses and talk about what it means for how we live out our faith.
