To celebrate the season of “America’s Game,” WordStage is proud to present “Diamonds” — a celebration of the seasonal opening of America’s favorite game! From Ernest Thayer’s iconic “Casey at the Bat” to “Casey’s Revenge,” baseball has inspired some of America’s greatest poets and writers to create memorable works of literature praising and damning this annual ritual. Adams, Marianne Moore, May Sarton, Gregory Corso and more extol the excitement and frustrations of this marvelous game, and the music of Scott Joplin compliments the musical poetry and prose of the writers.
